Kenya Ranked 4th Best-Performing Tourism Destination in Africa, Tops in FDI at UN Tourism Summit

Livingstone, Zambia – Kenya’s tourism industry continues to shine on the continental stage. It was ranked as the 4th best-performing tourism destination in Africa.

The country also earned recognition as the leading African destination for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the tourism sector. These accolades were unveiled during the 2nd UN Tourism Africa and Americas Ministerial Summit, held in Livingstone, Zambia.

The summit was hosted by UN Tourism (formerly UNWTO). It brought together tourism ministers, private sector players, and international stakeholders. The theme was “Promoting Sustainable Tourism and Investment in Africa.”

Kenya’s remarkable post-pandemic recovery and robust tourism development strategy have propelled it into the top ranks on the continent. Representing Kenya at the summit, Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife Rebecca Miano expressed her pride in the country’s achievements:

“Kenya continues to stand tall in Africa’s tourism landscape. Our recognition in both performance and investment shows our commitment to sustainable tourism growth and innovation. It also highlights the strong partnership between the government and the private sector.”
